The professional and
personal experiences Mike
has gained makes him the
perfect person to connect
with these kids.
It’s not only your ability, but
your attitude and
willingness to get the job
done, do a good job, take pride
in your work and be a pleasure
to work with. Trust me– there
aren’t enough folks like
you.
Mike’s commitment to
excellence is best
demonstrated in his efforts to
improve the skills of
student journalists
around him.
Mr. Wallace is not afraid of
hard work. He is energetic,
curious, congenial and above all
a good journalist in the
making.
He located a van and brought
eight students to Alabama so
they could follow reporters,
photographers, artists and
editors around to see how they
performed in the hubbub of
the real world. None of us
at the News had ever seen
someone do that before, but
we hope we’ll see it
again.
Not only did he seem certain
that journalism was the
career for him, but he also
believed – and still does – that
he had something special
to offer the profession.
Press-Passing Along the Knowledge
Our mission is to continue to pass along the knowledge and
experiences acquired through a decade of reporting in the media
industry and to help guide up-and-coming journalists along the path
to their career goals in the field.

as I am today.
